First of all Happy New Year!! This is my first post of 2016.
If you didn't know already, myself and Luke bought our first home together at the beginning of December. We had a big holiday to Mexico in May and when we got back we knuckled down and saved really hard. We started looking at the end of October when we got our mortgage in principle and got our offer accepted a few weeks ago, it's currently all going through the motions at the moment but we should be in by the end of Jan/beginning of February.
So due to this we got a few gifts for our new house for Christmas:
Bunny Lamp - George at ASDA
How cute is this lamp? We actually got two of these as I thought they would look so cute on our bedside tables.
Initial Cushions - George at ASDA
Initial Mugs - George at ASDA
Personalised Mr & Mrs Mugs
Glass Water Bottle
Glass Drinking Jars and Pink Decorative Bottles
Italian Cookbook and Banana Protector
Lean in 15 Cook Book
Cooking is a skill I lack, I honestly haven't cooked anything since food tech at school and even then I didn't do much. It's going to be completely new to me and I need to start with learning how to turn a cooker on haha and then on to the simple foods like pasta, eggs, etc. I'm sure once I know the basis of everything I'll be good to go and a top chef in no time. I'm really looking forward to trying some of the recipes from both of these books.
The things below aren't gifts and are things I've bought myself but I thought it would be good to include them in the same post.
The good thing about the house we have bought is that it's an old Victorian home which needs completely re-doing so I can decorate it exactly how I want and choose the kitchen and bathrooms that I really want as well.
Soap Dispenser & Tooth Brush Holder - Zara Home
I've had my eye on this bathroom set from Zara for a while and I managed to get it in the sale which was a result.
Candle Holder and Vase - TK Maxx
Pug Ornament - George at ASDA
Both TK Maxx and George at ASDA are so good for homeware bits, they're purse friendly but look expensive which is the main thing.
Sorry I don't know where everything is from as they were gifts but I'm sure there are similar things that can be found in most stores.
I'd love to know what your favourite stores are for homeware pieces? I've got a lot to buy!
